Dr. Mahmoud El Dessouky has over 40 years of solid experience in both Telecommunications and Information Technology (IT). Dr. El Dessouky has 2 Ph.D. degrees, his first Ph.D. degree (1977), is in Telecommunications while his second (1980), is in Computer Science. Dr. El Dessouky's experience extends to several domains including Academics, Scientific Research, Consultancy, Implementation Supervision, Projects Management, Procurement Management and several other domains. Dr. El Dessouky's research work at Paris 11 and Illinois universities in the fields of Distributed Computing and Computer Networks received international recognition and commendation. During his academic life (1967 – 1989); Dr. El Dessouky has supervised several Ph.D. students and tens of Masters’ students. Dr. El Dessouky has worked as a lecturer in the fields of Telecommunications and Computer Science for more than 15 years. Dr. El Dessouky has participated as a Senior Consultant (1986 – 1988), during the Design and Implementation phases of the Egyptian X25 National data network, the first National Packet Switched Data Network in the region. Moreover, Dr. El Dessouky contributed, in the capacity of senior consultant (1989 – 2010), in building tens of Intranets carrying Data, VoIP and Video Conferencing Traffic. Dr. El Dessouky has considerable contributions in the field of Encryption since as he was a member of the Egyptian National Committee for Networks Security.
Dr. El Dessouky has extensive experience in managing huge in- scale and multidisciplinary projects based on multinational firms.
In the field of IT, Dr. El Dessouky, as Founder and Executive Chairman of Automation Consultants for software development and IT consultancy, has achieved more than 400 contract assignments under his span of technical management and control throughout the Middle East region (1989 – 2016), Decision Support, BI, GIS, Data Warehousing, Unstructured Data Processing, Portals, ERP, Manufacturing, Banking, Retail, Document Management, Video Conferencing, IoT, Disaster Recovery, Network Security, Physical Security, IT Governance, ITIL and ISO 20000, IT Strategic Planning, IT Auditing are some of the targeted IT domains. Dr. El Dessouky has contributed in achieving major IT projects for plenty of diversified clients: Defense, Security, Government, Legislative bodies, Banks, Manufacturers, Oil and Gas… and others. Dr. El Dessouky is a well-known team leader. He is fully knowledgeable of PMI, SEI, CMM, COBIT, ITIL, and many other frames of work.
Dr. El Dessouky is a recognized World Bank ICT Consulant. Lately, Dr. El Dessouky has participated in the assessment phase for a national program for Upper Egypt local development (UELDP).
